Our Deepest Fear

by Marianne Williamsonfrom A Return To Love: Reflections on the Principles of A Course in Miracles
"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others."

Family Tree

During these trying times of war and poverty I feel it is best to think of what means most to us and what helps keep us solid and rooted in life. For me it is without a doubt my family. Throughout all the twists and turns, ups and downs my family has always been there for me.

Butterfly Kisses

This painting hangs over my daughters bed. She and I share a love for butterflies. This inspired me to paint this particular piece so she can have lovely thoughts of dancing butterflies in her head as she gently falls asleep.

Soul Bubbles Over

This painting represents that feeling you get when you have found your soul mate and your heart feels like it will explode. You want to laugh and cry all at once. Its like fire works!

Tree of Life

My representation of the tree of life has many elements. The red underneath the tree may seem bizarre but it is a symbol of the fire, passion, (the spark) that keeps us alive and motivated to keep going no matter what obstacles we face. If our fire burns out we began to loose our spark and we are in danger of losing ourselves.

Elements of My Mind

This is a painting of the racing tangled thoughts that go through my mind all at once like a spiderweb that I do not understand.

Paper Garden

I dedicated this painting to my daughter Hannah because she always mentions she wants to live in a house with a backyard and since the outdoors are progressively being filled with high rises and shopping malls I decided to make her her very own paper garden.

Indian Wedding

Although I am not a fan of traditional american weddings there is something so magical about Indian weddings. All the love, happiness, and color is so breathtaking.

Journey to Morocco

I have always wanted to travel to distant places and painting has become my escape (without the long trek and the expensive plane ticket). As I paint I feel like I am in some mysterious hidden place few have ever been. At the end of my journey I return home excited, waiting for my next adventure.

Lucid Dream

My friend's vivid dreams about surfing inspired this painting.

Milky Way

I painted this for my sister Katie because she has always made me feel like I could do anything. She believes I could shoot for the stars! Crazy girl! She is my best friend and hero.

The Eighth Wonder

I was inspired to paint this because to me it represents true unconditional love. The man who designed the Taj Mahal for his wife intended on building a black replica of it for himself where he was to be buried right across the river from her but he died and it was never built so this is my ghostly rendition of his Taj Mahal.

Autumn Leaves

This painting was inspired by a song "Autumn Leaves" by Paolo Nutini.
